Bukele and his mysterious message related to the wave of violence in Ecuador

Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele indirectly commented on the situation in Ecuador through social media. Bukele’s message “It’s not blowing and making bottles” was immediately related to the crisis in Ecuador, where President Daniel Noboa declared an “internal armed conflict” and decreed a state of emergency for 60 days due to the wave of violence. Bukele had previously pointed out that such measures do not solve problems by themselves and require a strategy against criminal groups. El Salvador has also been under an emergency regime since March, which has allowed mass arrests of gang members. However, organizations denounce abuses such as arbitrary arrests and torture. There seems to be a debate between the two leaders on their confrontations with crime under exceptional measures. Noboa announced the construction of new prisons, similar to the Confinement Center for Terrorism in El Salvador, which Bukele has labeled as the largest prison in Latin America. Both leaders seem to be taking different approaches to dealing with crime and violence.
