Bundesliga: championship celebration on Sunday? Leverkusen is ready

The city of Leverkusen is already preparing for the German championship. This could work on the weekend.

Since 2012 there has been no other German champion than FC Bayern Munich. It could happen on Sunday: Bayer Leverkusen can win the championship on matchday 29. These are the options:

  • With a Sieg Against Werder Bremen, Xabi Alonso’s team would have so many points that neither Bayern nor Stuttgart could catch up with them.
  • A draw Leverkusen is enough if Bayern and Stuttgart also draw or lose.
  • If both Bayern and Stuttgart lose on Saturday, Leverkusen will be champions regardless of their own result.

This is what Leverkusen is planning for the championship celebration

If the championship is fixed at the weekend, Leverkusen’s mayor is expecting many fans at the stadium. He assumes that many people want to celebrate there. There are special safety rules for this case: No glass bottles, no pyro!

The mayor also calls on people to come by public transport and celebrate peacefully:

Take care of each other! Celebrate together! Together with the club, we are doing everything we can to ensure that our football dream is a good time for everyone.

It could only be difficult with the presentation of the championship trophy on the town hall balcony:
