[See China June 22, 2021 News]CanadaThe federal government announced that it has been fully vaccinated from July 5thvaccineOf Canadian citizens and permanent residents can be exempted from compulsory entry when entering Canadaisolation

The news comes as many provinces in Canada have reached key vaccination targets. More than 75% of residents over 12 years of age have received at least one dose of the vaccine, and more than 20% have received two doses of the vaccine.

Even so, fully vaccinated Canadians and permanent residents still need to comply with inspections to pass customs.

Officials who spoke said that entrants need to produce documents proving that they have received a Canadian-approved vaccination at least 14 days before entry. Entrants are required to provide a negative COVID-19 virus test 72 hours before arrival, and a second test will be conducted after arrival. The immigrants also need to have a detailed quarantine plan to prevent the test result being positive upon arrival.

Entrants need to download the latest version of ArriveCAN released on July 5, and fill in the vaccination status, time, type of vaccine, travel details, isolation plan, symptom self-examination, etc.

Government officials said that if false information is submitted on ArriveCAN, it will result in a fine of up to 750,000 Canadian dollars or six months in prison.

Officials stated that passengers must electronically submit COVID-19-related information to the government’s ArriveCAN App before arrival.

The government media statement said: “The final decision on the exemption is made by the government representative at the border based on the information provided by the passenger when entering Canada. This is why the quarantine plan is still needed.”

Exempted passengers do not need to be quarantined or tested for COVID-19 on the 8th day. Passengers arriving by plane will not be forced to stay in government-authorized hotels. Unvaccinated children or dependent adults traveling with them will also be exempted. Check into the hotel.

However, children who have not been vaccinated need to be isolated from their parents at home for two weeks and will be tested for the COVID-19 virus on the eighth day of isolation.

The isolation exemption policy is limited to Canadian citizens and permanent residents and does not apply to foreign citizens unless they have been exempted from the border. In addition, there are currently four new crown vaccines approved by the Canadian government, namely Pfizer, Modena, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson.

The new rules will take effect on July 5 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Ottawa announced on Friday that it will continue to implement existing restrictions on the Canada-US border for at least one month until July 21.
