Capitol Hill, Trump filing denied

New troubles for Donald Trump: A federal judge has rejected his request to file various lawsuits in which he is accused of having legal responsibility for the violent attack on Congress. According to Amit Mehta, a judge appointed by Barack Obama, the evidence suggests that the then president gathered the crowd and ordered them to march on the Capitol despite knowing the risks of violence.

The judge also blames the tweet with which Trump attacked Mike Pence after pointing out it as the last line of defense against what he believed falsely stolen elections. “It is reasonable to assume that the president understood the impact of his tweet,” he writes. Pence, who intended to certify Joe Biden’s victory by refusing to overturn the vote, was forced to secure himself to escape the anger of Trump fans who stormed the Capitol.
