Carabao Cup – Fulham-Liverpool 1-1: Luis Diaz-Diop, the Reds reach Chelsea in the final

Liverpool return to Wembley. At Craven Cottage Klopp’s men made do with a 1-1 draw after a 2-1 in the first leg, eliminating Fulham and earning the fourteenth Carabao Cup final in their history. He scores Luis Diaz in the 11th minute, Diop equalizes with a quarter of an hour to go. The Reds play better overall, but former Lazio player Andreas Pereira hits the post at the start of the second half. And in the final there is an assault by the Londoners, who however are unable to take the double challenge to extra time. Liverpool will therefore play for the second national cup for the second time in three years, after the one won in 2021/2022: on that occasion too the opponent – defeated on penalties – was Chelsea. The same one that will appear in front of Van Dijk and company on February 25th.
