Who was Carl Weathers?

Carl Weathers was born on January 14, 1948, in New Orleans, Louisiana, in the United States and during his life he stood out as an actor, film director and American football player.

It is known that in his childhood he obtained a sports scholarship to St. Augustine High School, a private school, and became a complete athlete, as he practiced a large number of sports, excelling in: boxing, soccer, gymnastics, judo, football and wrestling, according to the ‘Raider Maven’ portal.

During his youth, Weathers played college football at San Diego State University and after not being accepted in the 1970 NFL Draft, he signed with the Oakland Raiders. In 1971 he signed with the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League, with whom he played until 1973, during which time he also attended San Francisco State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in theater.

Weathers retired from football in 1974 and began to pursue a career as an actor, as he had already ventured into the world of entertainment, playing extra roles, while he was an athlete.

What movies did Carl Weathers participate in?

The actor played the boxer ‘Apollo Creed’ alongside Sylvester Stallone in the Rocky films from 1976. Later, he co-starred with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the film ‘Predator’.

Weathers also voiced ‘Combat Carl’ in the 2019 Oscar-winning film ‘Toy Story 4’ and reappeared in 2023’s ‘Toy Story Horror’.
