Cat Janicesinger who went viral in recent times with the song “Dance You Outta My Head” and the beautiful and sad story that surrounds it, passed away this Wednesday morning (28) at the age of 31 after a battle with cancer.

As we say here, Cat became a sensation on social media after registering the song in question in the name of her 7-year-old son, Loren, due to his state of health. Struck by cancer, which has now taken her life, Janice released the track with the intention of protecting the boy’s financial future.

In a statement posted on InstagramCat Janice’s family confirmed her death and thanked all the love and affection from fans in recent months:

This morning, in her childhood home and surrounded by her family and love, Catherine peacefully entered the light and love of her divine creator.

We are forever grateful for the outpouring of love to Catherine and our family over the past few months. Cat has seen her music go places she never imagined and rests in peace knowing that she can continue to provide for her son through her music. This wouldn’t be possible without all of you.

Thanks.

In the message, the family also noted that Cat’s page will now be managed by the singer’s brother, who will still be responsible for other issues related to her musical career — including, according to the post, more releases that will be made in the future to meet requests by Cat.

Cat Janice e “Dance You Outta My Head”

When she released “Dance You Outta My Head,” Cat Janice posted on social media to share her plans to secure Loren’s future. The publication surpassed the 40 million views mark and Cat’s words moved many people:

Thank you for love me. I’m praying for a miracle to help me get through this, but I think I’m being called Home. My ultimate joy would be if you saved my song ‘Dance You Outta My Head’ and streamed it because all profits go straight to my 7 year old son who I’m leaving behind. Please share this, I need to leave this to him. If there’s one thing you need to know, it’s that the only opinion about you is your opinion. Love yourself and be kind to others. I hope I can get through this, but if not, good night everyone.

As a result, “Dance You Outta My Head” reached the Top 10 on iTunes and was used in tens of thousands of random posts on TikTok, becoming a true sensation on the platform.

You can listen to the (great) song below. Rest in peace, Cat!
