The vice-mayor of São Francisco de Itabapoana (SFI), Raliston Souza, visited Porto do Açu, in São João da Barra, this Tuesday (6). The agenda was articulated by the Intermunicipal Public Consortium for the Development of the North and Northwest of Fluminense (Cidennf).

— It was an opportunity, on behalf of Mayor Francimara Barbosa Lemos, to continue strengthening ties with this enterprise with great potential. The port representatives presented us with the potential and investment prospects — reported Raliston.

The vice-mayor reinforced that the city hall continues to invest in the professional qualifications of residents to prepare labor to be absorbed by opportunities such as those generated by the port.

Raliston recalled that, at the end of January, he participated in signing of an agreement with the State Government to offer courses in areas such as oil, gas and energy, through “Qualifica Já”whose registrations are now open.

In conversation with representatives from several municipalities, the Relationship Manager of Porto do Açu, Wanderson Sousa, highlighted the regional potential. The director of Port Administration, Vinícius Patel, highlighted that the port, in 2022, was the second largest in Brazil in terms of cargo movement. “There are 22 companies, installed in 11 terminals”, he informed, also citing the high possibility of generating sustainable energy, from, for example, offshore wind farms.

The mayor of SJB, Carla Caputi, highlighted the importance of integration between municipalities to deal with impacts and take advantage of opportunities created by the port and industrial complex. In parallel, the president of Cidennf, Fátima Pacheco, who is mayor of Quissamã, stated that the consortium will be a partner in possible development projects, which, according to her, generate employment, income and sustainability.

Also participating in the visit was a delegation from the Goiás State Pro-Industrial Development Association (Adial), led by Edwal Portilho. The intention was to strengthen the partnership with the state of Goiás, through new production flow routes.
