Coldplay will bring sign language interpreters to Barcelona

How are you doing on all the dates of your current tour? “Music Of The Spheres”, Coldplay will have four sign language interpreters for each of their four concerts in Barcelona this month.

To begin with, let’s remember that the British band Coldplay will be performing in Barcelona for the next days 24, 25, 27 and 28 of May, within his current international tour. Obviously, all the hits that have turned the group into one of the biggest names in international pop at the moment will be played. However, their songs will not only be able to be followed in English, but there will be the possibility that people with hearing problems can follow them in sign language in both Catalan and Spanish.

The Socio-cultural Association ENCANTADES will be in charge of signing the four Coldplay concerts at the Montjuïc Olympic Stadium with four sign language interpreters for each of the performances: two in Catalan Sign Language (LSC) and two in Sign Language Spanish (LSE): Eva García Codorniu, Òscar Argemí, Anna Armadà Aguirre and Aitor Pérez Rello.

It is Coldplay themselves who have wanted this to be possible in each and every one of their concerts both in Barcelona and on the rest of their world tour. In addition to these sign language interpreters, the organization also provides vibrating backpacks to deaf people to invite them to live a complete musical experience to which they usually do not have access.

Apparently, the idea came from Dakota Johnson, Chris Martin’s partner, who proposed carrying out this initiative after taking it from O’Connell testifiedbrother of Billie Eilish. It should also be noted that Chris Martin suffers tinnitus for a few years, which leads him to be especially sensitive to people with hearing problems.
