Corinthians is monitoring the situation of attacking midfielder Erik Lamela, from Sevilla, in Spain. The name of the 31-year-old Argentine is pleasing and was approved by Timão’s leadership, but there are no open negotiations so far, according to the column.
The São Paulo club is initially seeking information about the player’s plans for the remainder of his career.
This is because Lamela has a contract with Sevilla, in Spain, until July this year. According to the Spanish press, the LALIGA team has no interest in renewing Lamela.
Lamela fits into the Corinthians board’s initial project of hiring an impactful player, who would further boost the club’s name around the world and even bring marketing returns, in addition to technical returns on the field – considered a priority.
