Covid: 22,771 new cases in Mexico, the maximum peak of the pandemic
Mexico recorded 22,711 new infections from Covid-19 yesterday, Wednesday 11 August, the maximum daily increase of the entire pandemic, for a total of 3,020,596 cases, in addition to 727 new deaths. The record reached, in the middle of the third wave of infections in the country, exceeded the 22,339 cases reported on 21 January, when the maximum peak was reached. Mexico remains the fourth country in the world with the highest number of deaths from Covid-19, behind the United States, Brazil and India, and the fifteenth in the number of confirmed infections, according to the count of Johns Hopkins University.
