CTS: Labor Commission approved authorizing withdrawal until December 2024 | YOUR MONEY

As Management had anticipated, the Labor Commission, in a session held this Tuesday, April 16, put up for debate and voting an opinion that authorizes the free withdrawal of Compensation for Time of Service (CTS). The legislative initiative was approved by a majority, with 11 votes in favor and 3 abstentions.

The ruling provides that workers may withdraw their CTS until December 31, 2024, “in order to cover the need due to the current economic crisis,” the legislative initiative states. The opinion brings together projects 7010/2023-CR, 7130/2023-CR, 7152/2023-CR, 7358/2023-CR, 7400/2023-CR, and 7468/2023-CR.

The ruling will now go to the full Congress for a new vote. If it has the green light, it will be sent to the Executive for promulgation or observation.

There are more than ten bills presented in Congress, which seek a withdrawal of CTS. Some were presented to the Labor Commission, others to the Economy Commission. And some initiatives entered both commissions.

It should be remembered that the Congressional Economic Commission also has a ruling scheduled for its session on Wednesday, April 17, that authorizes the withdrawal of the CTS until December 2024.

The data. At the end of 2023, a law that allowed the CTS to be freely disposed of came into effect. Currently, only the surplus of a fund equivalent to four employee salaries can be withdrawn from the CTS.
