Death, Elverum | The Norwegian friend Fritz Wepper has died

Wepper fell asleep quietly in the hospital on Monday morning, writes the German newspaper Bild.

Many times in Østerdalen

Fritz Wepper became a true friend of Norway, with his own country house in Lofoten and many friends in Østerdalen, where he hunted moose.

Among the hunting companions was Ottar Berget, and it was he who had arranged the meeting between Fritz from Munich and Torunn from Korsberget in Trysil, and with the Easterner present.

It was a good story in the newspaper.

“Fritz Wepper sat down close to Torunn on the bunk and chatted with his young admirer about loose and firm.”

– Embarrassing and semi-embarrassing

Little brother Terje, five, and big sister Sissel also got to greet the German super celebrity, but it was Torunn who got hugs and a small kiss on the cheek.

– A bit embarrassing and semi-embarrassing, but very fun. He was a very nice fellow, Torunn told Østlendingen last autumn.

Derrick

Wepper and Horst Tappert starred in the TV series Derrick of which 281 episodes were made. Brave was the criminal investigator Stephan Derrick, while Wepper was his young assistant.

The series was shown in more than 100 countries and was a viewer magnet in Norway. It also became very popular in countries such as France, Italy, Japan and China.

Derrick solved his cases using cool logic, and by today’s pace things went rather smoothly as the criminal cases unraveled in 70s, 80s and 90s Munich. Once Derrick and Klein had completed their crime scene investigation or spoken to an important witness, the detective turned to his assistant:

– Harry, hol schon mal den Wagen, was usually modest. Or in Norwegian: Harry, get the car.

Horst Tappert died aged 85 in 2008.
