Paris – Despite scoring his own goal, Kylian Mbappé was unable to say goodbye to the Paris Saint-Germain fans with a feeling of success in the last home game. The champions lost to FC Toulouse 1:3 (1:1) on the penultimate matchday of the French football league. The 25-year-old superstar took the lead after just eight minutes, but Thijs Dallinga (13th), Yann Gboho (68th) and Frank Magri (90th + 5) turned the game around for the team from midfield. Paris had already secured the national title ahead of time.
Mbappé announced on Friday that he would be leaving PSG when his contract expired after this season. A move to Real Madrid is expected. Mbappé moved from AS Monaco to the French capital club in 2017. The 2018 world champion was honored with a big choreo before the game against Toulouse kicked off. The fans presented an image of Mbappé in a cheering pose framed by a golden laurel branch.
Paris will play two more away games in the league this season as well as the cup final on May 25th against Olympique Lyon in Lille. In the Champions League, PSG failed in the semi-finals against Borussia Dortmund.
