Demi Agolja (26) from Great Britain died after operations butt lift, procedure that is considered the most dangerous in the field of plastic surgery. The mother of three decided to go to Turkey, despite her family urging her to forgo the operation. Demi suffered multiple heart attacks caused by a fat embolism, although doctors said the operation was successful.
A few days after the operation, Agolja complained about chest pains. She returned to the clinic in Istanbul for a check-up, but on the way to the hospital she suffered a heart attack. She was immediately transferred to intensive care, after which she died. Her brother Karl (37) said that the whole family and her partner tried to convince her not to do any operations on herself, precisely for safety reasons.
“It’s tragic what happened. We’re all in shock. If anyone is thinking about going to Turkey for surgery, I’d tell them not to! Even her boyfriend disagreed. We’re told her boyfriend tried CPR in a taxi , but we don’t know all the details. She was only 26 years old, she shouldn’t have died. She left behind three young children,” he said.
Recall that the American Society of Plastic Surgeons confirmed that Brazilian butt lift has the highest death rate from all other aesthetic procedures. For enlargement, fat injection is used, and its popularity originates from Brazil, where women are known for their figures dominated by large and rounded buttocks.
This operation can lead to serious problems if performed incorrectly. These include fat embolism, a disorder where fat injected into the buttocks enters the bloodstream and blocks a blood vessel. In the lungs, it prevents the entry of oxygen into the bloodstream, while in the brain it can cause a stroke!
