“Life is a masquerade,” is the story of a boy with little chance of surviving childhood. A story about a “worker-poet”, a young locksmith, who writes poems, hiding in the corners of an oil refinery, and who in a very short time will establish himself as a very important figure in the literary and overall public life of Sarajevo and BiH in the early sixties of the last century.
This is a film about a man who wrote popular music, and as a credit for that, instead of lucrative royalties for timeless hits, he was given the label: “pop poet”.
A drama about a man, a former symbol of Sarajevo, who will leave this city, silently, in 1992. And in Novi Sad, he will sew himself a new label: “poet – haze”. Not a refugee, but a haze. He will write again, from memory, most of his works: collections of poems, novels, plays.

How and why did Duško Trifunović become and remain more famous than read? Why is a poet, crowned with the most important poetry awards, anthologized, verified by serious literary criticism, in academic circles, still considered among popular poets?
Writers participating in the film: Pero Zubac, Rajko Petrov Nogo, Izet Sarajlić, Muharem Bazdulj; musicians: Goran Bregović, Gabor Lenđel, Željko Bebek, Sead Memic – Vajta; academic, Zoran Paunović who said about Trifunović that with his departure an entire era ended. He was the first to show that popular music can contain serious poetry. He knew that what the people carry in their genes, he can translate into adequate verses, which, in large numbers, have entered everyday speech, and people pronounce them as folk wisdom, without knowing their author.
