With no less than 73 points, the league star broke the franchise’s highest scoring mark by a player, setting a new record in Texas.

In search of recovery after the defeat to Phoenix Suns at home in the last round, the Mavericks had to chase the result in the first quarter, when the Hawks opened up a 31-27 lead. The reaction, however, didn’t take long to happen.
In a devastating run in the second period, the visitors reacted and turned the deficit into absolute dominance before the break. It was an omen of a recital to be witnessed in the Atlanta night.

Flirting with a triple-double at the beginning of the third quarter, Doncic delivered an incredible performance and expanded his name in the history of the Mavericks. Even without Kyrie Irving, with a thumb injury, Dallas dominated the home team in the second half and won the victory before the final stretch.
Rocked, Doncic not only broke his own record of 60 points, but also opened up Dallas’ all-time record. Worse for the Hawks, who suffered their fourth consecutive defeat this season.
With 73 points, the Mavericks star became the 10th player to achieve that score in a game in NBA history. Interestingly, the second in the same week, after Joel Embiid of the San Antonio Spurs.
It was also the highest mark by a player since the record in the entire history of the league, broken in 2006 by none other than Kobe Bryant, legend of the league. Los Angeles Lakers and who died exactly four years ago in a helicopter accident.
