Rare floods hit a number of areas in the United Arab Emirates. A number of luxury cars such as Range Rover, Ford and Tesla became victims of the flood.

As a result, many cars became victims of the flood, including supercars and other luxury cars owned by local residents. As is known, Dubai is quite synonymous with luxury cars.

In several videos circulating on social media X, a Range Rover car can be seen crashing through quite high flood waters. In another video, the Range Rover can be seen being flooded in its interior like an aquarium.
Apart from that, the Porsche Sedan was also seen driving through the Dubai floods. There were also drivers using Teslas who braved the flood even though their windshield was covered in water. The Ford Mustang was also seen trying to brave the flood.
More than 4.7 inches of rain fell in one day in the UAE, flooding Dubai and causing water to spill onto homes and businesses, The Associated Press news agency reported.
This is the largest rainfall in 75 years in the United Arab Emirates, the National Meteorological Center and the country’s government announced on social media.
The UAE National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority asked the public to stay at home. In a post on X’s social media, authorities said that cars should be parked in “safe and elevated locations,” away from flood-prone areas and places where water can accumulate.
Private schools across the UAE were also closed ahead of the storm, and government employees were instructed to work remotely. The UAE is known for its dry conditions and arid climate, but it does receive occasional rainfall in the winter.
Flights to Dubai Airport were temporarily diverted. Dubai International Airport officials said the diversion was made due to ‘ongoing extraordinary weather events currently being experienced in the UAE’.
Reported by NBC, Wednesday (17/4/2024), the airport said there was ‘major flooding’ on the roads leading to the airport. Airport authorities also urged people wishing to travel to check their flight status.
