Armed with a basket full of chocolate eggs produced by the inmates of the São Luís Women’s Resocialization Prison Unit (UPFEM), the São Luís Chamber’s Easter bunny passed through each department of the institution, this Monday morning (25) , distributing the eggs to the servers.

The action, in reference to Easter, is the result of an institutional partnership between the Chamber of São Luís and the State Government, through the State Secretariat for Penitentiary Administration (Seap), and aimed to present gifts to employees and encourage resocialization through prison labor.

President Paulo Victor (PSB) thanked the State Government for the partnership and highlighted the importance of valuing the work carried out by inmates of the prison system to guarantee resocialization and a new source of sustenance to restart life in society.

“Congratulations to the State Government for the initiative, which provided us with these Easter gifts for our employees, through the work with dignity carried out by the prison workforce, which helps us to also value the employees of the House. It is an important measure to guarantee resocialization with dignity. Without a doubt, a necessary and very important work. Happy Easter to everyone”, said Paulo Victor.
