Economy Commission approves opinion that proposes the free disposal of 100% of the CTS

With 21 votes in favor, 1 against and 1 abstention, the Economy, Banking, Finance and Financial Intelligence Commission approved by majority the opinion that authorizes workers to freely dispose of 100% of the Compensation for Time of Service (CTS) in order to face the impact of inflation and economic recession.

The ruling falls on legislative initiatives 7130, 7152, 7228, 7358, 7400 and others.

During the support of the proposal, the president of the commission, César Revilla Villanueva (FP), indicated that this has its origin in the economic recession that the country is facing, worryingly reducing the income of families, who today, They do not cover the products of the basic basket.

Revilla Villanueva explained that the lower demand for jobs causes people to be forced to obtain a lower salary, becoming informal.

It should be noted that this authorization for the exceptional withdrawal of the CTS will be until December 31, 2024.

THE DEBATE

Congressman Jorge Marticorena Mendoza (PB) stated that, apart from the paralysis of various sectors that affect national production and which is reflected in the lack of employment, the working class wants to withdraw their money due to unfulfilled promises of a better future as in the case of the AFP.

Parliamentarian Silvia Monteza Facho (No A) argued that approving the free availability of the CTS does not distort its social objective; On the contrary, it meets the need to address the difficult situation of various labor sectors that, despite being employed, do not have sufficient resources to face the economic crisis.

For his part, legislator Alejandro Cavero Alva (Avanza País) expressed that the future of workers was being mortgaged, since they would not have funds if they became unemployed, even worse in a context of recession and inflation.

Congressman Américo Gonza Castillo (PL) emphasized that the capacity of Peruvians should not be underestimated regarding the good use they will make of the CTS money.

For parliamentarian José Luna Gálvez (PP), the measure is correct, since families do not make ends meet because inflation levels must be higher than those shown by the corresponding institutions.
