Eleven injured in demonstrations in Georgia
Eleven people, including six police officers, are being treated in hospital following clashes as a majority in the Georgia parliament voted in favor of the controversial “foreign agent” law.
63 people have been arrested.
The opposition in the country believes that the government cooperates too closely with Russia, and the bill is compared to a similar law that has been introduced there.
After the vote, police in Tbilisi used tear gas and stun grenades to push back an estimated 40,000 protesters outside the National Assembly.
The Ministry of Health states in a message reproduced by Georgian media that eleven people are receiving treatment in hospital. There are six police officers among them.
