Eliteserien, Bodø Glimt | Late scores saved Bodø/Glimt against Kristiansund

KRISTIANSUND – BODØ/GLIMT 2-4:

Bodø/Glimt is now at the top of the Eliteserien table with a gap of five points to Brann after seven games played.

On Sunday afternoon, there were three new points against Kristiansund, but KBK gave them a hard fight for the points.

Glimt led 1-2 with six minutes left of regular time, but instead of Bodø/Glimt cruising to victory, the match ended dramatically.

Because in the 86th minute, Kristiansund took advantage of a big mistake by Brede Moe, and the home team equalized at 2-2 with a few minutes left to play.

However, the yellow jerseys managed to fight back. In the 89th minute, Jens Petter Hauge curled in the vital 2-3 scoring, before Kasper Høgh punctuated the game three minutes into overtime.

In the end, it was a victory for Kjetil Knutsen’s men, even though the three points were far behind on Sunday afternoon.

– Very ruthless

Kristiansund started the match encouragingly, but gradually Bodø/Glimt took over more and more. And in the 37th minute it was for the away team.

Glimt won the ball after a defensive corner, and then they rushed into attack. Søndre Sørli was sent through in the back room, and after waiting for Albert Grønbæk, Sørli passed the ball to him. The Dane smashed the ball into the goal from 18 metres.

– Pattern counter from Glimt. They are precise and very merciless, exclaimed TV 2’s commentator Endre Olav Osnes.

However, Kristiansund hit back just before the break. Ruben Alte trudged into the field, before he finished towards the goal. The ball went via Brede Moe and bounced into the field where Pape Gueye could score the equaliser.

Three minutes into overtime of the first half, the home team was awfully close to taking the lead as well.

Mikaelsson stole the ball from Moe, who was Glimt’s rear defender. He was then allowed to run alone throughout Glimt’s half of the track. Instead of finishing alone with the goalkeeper, he played the ball across to Alte, but a tiger leap from Haikin prevented 2-1.

Drama at the end

Kristiansund continued to impress in the second half as well, and ten minutes into the half it was only the crossbar that stood in the way of the home team taking the lead.

However, Glimt were not harmless either, and in the 67th minute they were in the lead again.

Once again it was Sørli and Grønbæk who combined, and after being served by Sørli for the second time in the match, Grønbæk was suddenly a two-goal scorer.

However, Kristiansund did not give up. Six minutes before full time, the home team took advantage of a huge mistake by Brede Moe.

Glimt rolled the ball behind in the back row, and Moe just had to dampen the ball and hit it on. But he got a terrible touch and Gueye intercepted the ball.

Haikin also stood high outside to participate in the game, and thus Gueye was able to roll the ball into the open goal from 20 metres.

It was still not over at the Nordmøre stadium. Substitute Jens Petter Hauge received the ball out on the left in the 89th minute, and the 24-year-old simply curled the ball elegantly into the far corner.

Three minutes into overtime, Kasper Høgh punctuated the match, and thus it ended 2-4 between KBK and Bodø/Glimt.
