Is there a grudge between Michelle Yeoh and Emma Stone?

This scene caused confusion among viewers at the 2024 Oscars – and Emma Stone, 35. The winner of the Best Actress category takes the stage to accept her award. But before she can receive the Oscar from one of the five laudators, Michelle Yeoh, 61, she quickly passes the golden boy on to Jennifer Lawrence, 33.

The speculation immediately begins: Is there resentment between Michelle Yeoh and Emma Stone? Does one not begrudge the other the price? Far from it, as Yeoh now officially explains in an Instagram post. Along with pictures that show her sharing a warm hug with Emma Stone, she writes: “Congratulations, Emma!! I confused you, but I wanted to share this wonderful moment of the Oscar presentation to you with your best friend Jennifer! !”

As a reminder: Last year, Yeoh received the Oscar from her friend Jamie Lee Curtis, 65, for her acting performance in “Everything everywhere all at once”. It was obviously a special moment for the 61-year-old, which she passed on to her friends Stone and Lawrence wanted to pass on.

“Oppenheimer” was one of the biggest winners at this year’s Oscars. The work about the so-called “Father of the Atomic Bomb” was named best film, and director Christopher Nolan, 53, won the prestigious award for the first time after numerous nominations. And leading actor Cillian Murphy, 47, also received an Oscar for his incredible performance.

The Irish actor was supported by his family during the ceremony. His wife Yvonne McGuinness, 51, to whom he has been married since 2004, and their sons Aran, 16, and Malachy, 18, walked the red carpet with the Hollywood star and gave him a warm hug after his victory. The fact that Murphy appears with his family is a real rarity; the 47-year-old is generally considered to be shy of publicity – even if he has been in the spotlight for months thanks to “Oppenheimer”.

Emma Stone: In emotional Oscar speech she thanks…

Emma Stone, 35, won her second golden boy at the 2024 Oscars, winning Best Actress for her role as “Bella Baxter” in “Poor Things.” The award obviously came as a surprise to the actress, judging by the look on her face at this year’s Academy Awards.

So it was no wonder that when she accepted her Oscar on stage, tears welled up in her eyes and her words faltered. At the end of her emotional speech, the actress pulled herself together again so as not to forget her loved ones: “I would like to thank my mother, my brother Spencer, my father and my husband Dave.” But she saved one very special person for last, otherwise she would have completely lost her composure during her speech. “The most important thank you goes to my daughter. In three days she will be celebrating her third birthday,” said the proud mother of little Louise Jean. “She changed our lives. I love you more than heaven, my girl!” It was the words of a loving mother that moved the entire audience.
