EPA celebrates Arbor Day in Cartagena: they plant 100 new trees |  THE UNIVERSAL

With the planting of 100 new trees in different sectors of the city, by the Public Environmental Establishment, EPA Cartagena, the commemoration of Arbor Day took place this Monday.

The main activity took place in the linear park between the Boston neighborhood and Pedro de Heredia Avenue, Camino del Medio sector. In this, the planting of 50 new trees and the environmental recovery of the area, free of garbage, were achieved. In addition to members of the Public Environmental Establishment, EPA Cartagena, the Public Space Management, the Elyon Yiret university corporation and Tecnar, the mayor of Locality 2, Alexis Valerio, and the Mayor’s Squad participated in the activity.

Another massive planting activity was carried out in the Omaira Sánchez sector, in the La Candelaria neighborhood, specifically at the Omaira Sánchez Educational Institution, ICBF headquarters, and Casa del Adulto Mayor, where a total of 50 more trees were planted.

These actions, like others planned to be carried out during 2024, will aim at the ecological restoration of some green areas of the city.

He invited the entire community to generate a culture where we all contribute to the improvement of the environment and generate beautification spaces.
