Israel faced great opposition from the vast majority of the juries, and stood with only three points when Norway, the fourteenth country out, had to distribute its votes.
NRK’s channel host Ingvild Helljesen stepped in at short notice after it was known that Alessandra Mele withdrew, and was given the task of handing out eight points to Israel.
– It is deeply shocking. Would like to hear the reasoning from the professional jury. Should do well to sing worse than Israel did today, says Nettavisen’s entertainment commentator Maria Ludvigsen.

On the night of Sunday, it also became clear who sat on the Norwegian professional jury. The jury consisted of actress and artist Lisa Stokke, artist and singer Daniel Johanen Elmhari, music producer Lars Horn Lavik, artist Annprincess Johnson Koffa and concert pianist Gunilla Süssmann.
– Excited about what kind of reactions it creates
In addition, Malta, Germany, Estonia and Moldova, among others, gave points to Israel.
However, Ludvigsen is unsure of what kind of reaction this will get and calls for an explanation from the jury:
– I am excited about what kind of reactions it creates. I wish we could talk to those who sit on that jury, and find out what is the basis for that assessment here. I think, as I have said before, that the song is good. In the past, I have also thought that the vocalist’s performances have been good. They weren’t today. She sang SO bad! Ashamed that our professional jury gave so many points, writes the entertainment expert.
And also adds:
– The jury gives points based on the general test, that may be part of the explanation – but this shows that they shouldn’t.
– In any case, it is surprising that the Norwegian expert jury gives so many points and stands out so much from the rest of the expert jury, says Ludvigsen.
Sweden reacts
In the Swedish newspaper Expressen’s live update that followed the voting, the journalists were shocked by the Norwegian voting.
– NORWEGIAN KEMPESVIK! Only three points. The Brotherhood, on the other hand, give Israel the second point, when they send an eight down to the Mediterranean, writes the newspaper.
Sweet brother did not give Israel any points. Nor to Norway.
