There are just a few hours left until Solana Imani Rowe, better known as SZA, performs on the Johnnie Walker stage. She is currently one of the North American singers who keeps the contemporary R&B genre positioned globally, and today she will give a concert at night in the Simón Bolívar park in Bogotá.
The lyrics of her latest songs are explicit and address themes related to love, breakups, and beauty. Successful compositions such as Kill Bill, Nobody Gets Me’ and ‘Open Arms’ have enabled her to gain loyalty with an audience that increasingly identifies with her music. Solána Imani Rowe was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and grew up in New Jersey. During her school days she stood out as a cheerleader and gymnast, and, some time later, she left university to dedicate herself to music. The references of her musical ecosystem were Billie Holiday, Björk, Wu-Tang Clan, and RZA, from whom she inspired her stage name.
In 2013 he signed with the record company TDE (Top Dawg Entertainment), and in 2014 he released the album ‘Z’, which entered the Billboard 200 at number 39. There he collaborated with his fellow TDE members: Kendrick Lamar, Isaiah Rashad and Chance the Rapper. By 2016, SZA was already a recognized collaborator.
