Jakarta (ANTARA) – Election expert from the University of Indonesia (UI) Titi Anggraini said that the Indonesian KPU should not have closed the vote acquisition diagram for the presidential and vice presidential elections (pilpres) and legislative member elections (pileg) in real count Vote Recapitulation System (Sirekap).
“What is closed is a pie chart (circle diagram, ed.) and numbers, numeric, pie chart and numerical graphs. This is very helpful for voters during the gap period waiting for the election to be determined on March 20 2024, apart from the urgency of the C Results and various “certificates at each level of vote recapitulation,” said Titi when met in Bogor, Wednesday.
According to Titi, Sirekap is actually a means of publishing vote counting and recapitulation as well as an aid in recapitulating vote counts at every level. This is as regulated in KPU Regulation Number 5 of 2024.
Sirekap, he said, could support the transparency of the vote recapitulation carried out by the KPU.
Therefore, Titi said that the KPU should act quickly to make corrections if there are anomalous numerical data, instead of closing the vote acquisition diagram.
“The KPU’s action should not be to close it down. However, it should improve the quality of technology by increasing the response to findings of anomalies, errors and also public criticism. So, transparency is truly two-way, transparency gives birth to accountability through maximum public participation,” said the lecturer. UI Faculty of Law.

Previously, Indonesian KPU member Idham Holik explained that currently the KPU will only display authentic evidence for the vote results, namely the C1-Plano Model Form or records of the 2024 election vote counting results.
“Now the KPU’s policy is to only display authentic evidence of election participants’ vote acquisition,” said Idham when confirmed in Jakarta, Tuesday (5/3).
Based on monitoring since Tuesday (5/3) evening, the vote acquisition diagram for the presidential election which is usually displayed on the Sirekap page has disappeared. Likewise with the chart of vote results for the DPR RI Member Election, DPRD Member Election, and RI DPD Member Election.
The public can only see the C1-Plano Model Form at polling stations (TPS) in electoral districts, both on the presidential election and legislative election menus.
