Film Vina: Before 7 Days, a Glance at the Barrenness of Law Enforcement for ‘The Strong’

JawaPos.com – The film Vina: Before 7 Days is not as feared by netizens, that this film will exploit the sadness of Vina’s death at the hands of a motorbike gang in the Cirebon area in 2016.

This film actually has a very positive aim of encouraging the law enforcement process to run in the proper corridor. After the death of Vina and her lover, all the perpetrators have not yet been successfully investigated. In fact, the mastermind behind Vina’s murder is still at large to this day because it is suspected that powerful people were involved.

The film Vina: Before 7 Days actually needs to be appreciated because it was brave enough to take the risk of raising the case of Vina’s death, where one of the perpetrators and masterminds of the murder was the son of a powerful person. It is suspected that this is the reason why the legal process in Vina’s case to date has not reached the intellectual actor or real mastermind behind Vina’s murder case.

Anggy Umbara as the director dared to raise the case of Vina’s death, who was killed by a motorbike gang and raped in turn, so that this case could be thoroughly investigated by law enforcement officials by arresting the perpetrator who is still on the run and at the same time bringing the main perpetrator to justice.

“What I want to convey is that this is a story that is important to share because this still happens frequently. Sorry to say, the law in Indonesia is not working as it should,” said Anggy Umbara at a press conference at the Rasuna Said Epicentrum, South Jakarta, recently.

Anggy has a moral responsibility to raise Vina’s case, where until now the law enforcement process has not been deemed to have caught up with the main perpetrator. Because based on the original footage that appears in this film of one of the friends who was possessed by Vina’s spirit, the main perpetrator fled to Jakarta.

“This is no longer delinquency, but crime. Awareness is what I want to raise. Don’t let there be another Vina Vina. This case must be thoroughly investigated. Let’s show that the law in Indonesia is sharp,” said Anggy Umbara.

Dheeraj Kalwani as producer said that the film Vina raises the theme of bullying which is very dangerous. Apart from that, this film also highlights the negative side of motorbike gangs and is based on the reality that occurs in society.

According to Dheeraj, the film Vina: Before 7 Days, which is showing starting today, Wednesday (8/5) in cinemas, received hundreds of screens on the first day of its screening.

“This film will be shown on May 8 on 520 screens. Hopefully this film will be well received. We will also go to Cirebon to watch it with the family of the deceased,” said Dheeraj Kalwani.

Meanwhile, Lydia Kandou admitted that she was very grateful to be involved in the film Vina: Before 7 Days. The reason is, this film raises a theme that is very important to voice.

“I’m very happy that Vina’s story was made into a film. We really have to be careful. Because there are a lot of dangerous bullies out there. The reason I accepted it is because this film is a true story. Second, I read the scenario, I really like my role here,” explained Lydia Kandou.

The film Vina immediately opens with a dramatic incident where Vina (Nayla Purnama) is murdered and the deceased’s body is found on the Cirebon flyover. This case was initially considered a single motorbike accident. Vina’s grandmother (Lydia Kandou) is suspicious because Vina’s body is unnaturally crushed. However, there is not enough evidence to reject the report.
