Fisker in financial difficulties

Fisker has been struggling with financial difficulties for a long time. Just last week, the Californian company hit the headlines because it failed to pay interest on convertible bonds amounting to $8.4 million due on March 15th – according to its own statements, there was enough money available, but it had a 30 -day period for negotiations with investors.

Previously this had Wall Street Journal reported, citing inside information, Fisker is preparing for possible bankruptcy and has hired the consulting firm FTI Consulting and the law firm Davis Polk to assist with a possible filing. The company itself did not want to comment directly on this and confirmed in a short statement just to work regularly with external consultants.
