FORD PRO Here is the new Transit Connect, an innovative compact van that completes the electrification of the Transit – Business range

Ford Pro unveils the new Transit Connect, the high-productivity compact van that completes the electrification of the Transit family. The new generation introduces a new and advanced Plug-In Hybrid version which offers an estimated electric range of 110 km, with both alternating and direct current charging.

The new Transit Connect offers greater load capacity, up to 3.7 m3, and will also be available in a Combi version, equipped with a highly configurable second row of seats. The PHEV version combines a 1.5 EcoBoost petrol engine with an electric powertrain, with high-voltage battery, to deliver 150 HP and 350 Nm of torque through a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The maximum payload is 770 kg and the maximum towing weight is 1,400 kg. The estimated electric range is up to 110 km and, in EV mode, it provides up to 330 Nm of torque to move without hesitation even at full load. The battery can be recharged both with the 11 kW on-board AC charger and with direct current fast charging, which reaches 50 kW. As an alternative to the new PHEV powertrain, customers can also choose a 2.0 EcoBlue diesel engine with 102 or 122 hp.

Ford Pro offers the model in short or long wheelbase versions, as well as in Van and Combi versions, the latter with 5 seats. The van’s new load compartment design offers a usable volume of over 3.1m3 and over 3.7m3, depending on the wheelbase chosen. The maximum payload is 820 kg and the towing capacity reaches 1,500 kg, for the transport of even generously sized equipment and trailers.

The Combi version introduces a new and revolutionary seat configuration system that allows you to quickly and easily transform your vehicle from a comfortable five-seater to a work van with large load volume. Ford Pro services help Transit Connect customers accelerate their productivity by maximizing uptime and reducing operating costs. A 10″ digital instrument cluster with configurable display is standard across the range. This combines with the central 10” color touchscreen with connected navigation to create a stylish and productive digital dashboard.

Those who use a work phone for navigation or contacting customers can choose to use wireless mirroring of Apple Carplay and Android Auto15 with wireless device charging on the Limited and Active series. For larger equipment, like laptops or tools that require higher charging power, the USB-C ports deliver up to 45 watts.

Advanced driver assistance systems standard on Transit Connect include Pre-Collision Assist with automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning, Evasive Steering Assist and Intersection Assist, to help prevent or mitigate collisions with others road users.

The rear camera and the Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert, standard on the Titanium and Active versions, offer even greater safety during manoeuvres10 by monitoring blind spots and oncoming traffic. Transit Connect will enter production in spring 2024, with deliveries expected over the summer.
