Forfang in the victory match in Raw Air – won in Holmenkollen

Forfang jumped 133.5 and 128 meters and won ahead of Ryoyu Kobayashi and Stefan Kraft. The latter leads Raw Air ahead of Forfang.

There was also Norwegian 5th place for Robert Johansson, who is not in the national team this season.

Daniel Huber, the Austrian who led Raw Air after Saturday’s race, failed miserably on Sunday. He jumped 111 meters and did not advance to the final round. Thus, his chance of victory is gone.

Challenging wind

The jury struggled at times with varying wind conditions in Kollen, and especially in the second half, several jumpers had to jump on and off the barrier before they could set off.

Marius Lindvik rose in the final round with a jump of 127 meters, but he finished in 14th place and falls in the Raw Air summary.

Johansson got an encouraging result with her 5th place after jumping 131 and 127.5 metres.

Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal, Halvor Egner Granerud and Fredrik Villumstad were knocked out in the 1st round on Sunday.

Raging Sundal

There was drama earlier in the day when Sundal fell in the qualification. He also had trouble landing in the race itself, and the 23-year-old raged at the jury.

– It’s windy, and it will be unfair. It is okay. But when it comes at the expense of risking health and injury, it is damn bad not to look more closely at the composition of the wind on the ground. Yes, I’m within the corridor, but I don’t have a chance to get to my feet sensibly with impact, he told TV 2 about the qualifying jump.

Sundal was unsteady in the landing in the first part of the race itself, but stayed on his feet after the jump of 120 metres.

– I decided to try again since it is at home. Then almost the same thing happens again. Those who sit up there put the Holmenkollen race to shame. “It’s really stupid and badly done if they send out jumpers just to send them out,” thundered the 23-year-old.

– Outdoor sports

The fall in qualifying probably ruined Sundal’s chances for a top-ten finish in Raw Air. The weak jump in the race itself, which did not qualify for a place in the final round, further reduced the chances.

Huber also had trouble with the wind. Race director Sandro Pertile understands the disappointment of the mares in question, but dismisses the criticism from Sundal.

– Today the conditions are better than yesterday. It’s still outdoor sports, and we have to accept that. I understand the disappointment of the two athletes, says Pertile to TV 2 and adds:

– It is part of the sport. Tomorrow they will be happy again, and there will be new chances in Trondheim. Sometimes you are lucky, sometimes not.
