After leaving Japan, Yamazaki moved to various countries before entering Indonesia in April 2021. There is also information that he was working at a local steel-related company and earning income until June 2022.
According to the prefectural police, Nishiyama Farm began its overseas resale business in 2015, and effectively went bankrupt in 2019. The fund is said to have collected a total of 13.3 billion yen from 930 people in 31 prefectures, mainly in Aichi Prefecture, with the promise that if they invested in the business, they would receive a refund in addition to dividends.
