On Hafjell, the artist Freddy Kalas was supposed to play at the restaurant and après-ski place Gaiastova on Friday evening, but just before 2pm it became clear that he had to cancel.

No stick for the country

“Unfortunately, I cannot get to Gaiastova today due to illness.” writes the artist on his Instagram Story.

“I was really looking forward to taking a stick for the country with you, Hafjell! We wish you a continued good Easter,” concludes Freddy Kalas.

Drammens Tidende was the first to report the case, which was also mentioned by NTB and VG.

NRK has tried to contact Freddy Kalas, at the time of writing without success.

Morgan Sulele in

Gaiastova quickly announced the news that they had brought in Morgan Sulele at an hour’s notice.

– Very sad that Freddy has fallen ill, and I wish him a speedy recovery, writes Sulele in an e-mail to NRK just after 3pm.

They say it’s cool to replace the slalom boots with moonboots, and are not disappointed that Kalas has cancelled.

– No! I love Freddy Kalas! But Sulele is guaranteed to be good. I’m just going to enjoy myself with my girlfriends anyway, says Gunnarsdottir.

Freddy Kalas won’t take a stick at Hafjell, but it will be a party nonetheless.

– The king of après ski

Kristina Østbye and Ole Christian Oswald are queuing to enter après-ski. They are more disappointed.

– Kalas is after all the king of après ski, everyone I have spoken to has looked forward to seeing him. There was a packed bus from the city centre, and everyone was in shock and disbelief, she says.

– It’s stupid that he didn’t show up. He was the headliner. The replacement is in, but it’s still disappointing, says Oswald.

Two who look carefree are Karoline Halvorsen and Sarah Foldvik.

– It’s very, very fun!! We’re enjoying ourselves like hell, says Foldvik.

This group of friends from Oslo had also made the trip. They say they are at Hafjell for après ski, heels on the roof and concerts.

The fact that Christin Wroldsen and Arve Moen are at Hafjell with the children is just a cover for being able to have some fun at Easter itself, they grin.
