TEL AVIV – On the eve of his first visit to the White House, the Israeli premier Naftali Bennett is facing days of renewed tension on the border with the Gaza Strip, three months after the last conflict in May, which still took place under the previous government of Benjamin netanyahu. On Saturday, a march called by Hamas and Islamic Jihad to commemorate the anniversary of the 1969 Al Aqsa Mosque fire (caused by a young Australian Christian who was then judged mentally unstable) degenerated into violent clashes with Israeli soldiers.
