China News Service, November 18th. According to a report by Singapore’s Lianhe Zaobao on the 18th, the situation of the new crown epidemic in Germany is severe. Experts warned that if action is not taken in time, it may usher in “a very bad Christmas”.

According to data released by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) of the German National Institute of Health on the 18th, in the past 24 hours, the country has newly confirmed 65,371 new cases of new crowns, which is the first single day since the outbreak of the epidemic to break the 60,000 mark. On that day, Germany added 264 new crown deaths, with a total of 98,538 deaths.

Facing the German counterattack against the epidemic, RKI Director Willer emphasized that it is vital to take quick action to contain the epidemic.

He warned that because many cases may go untested or discovered, the actual number of infections may be three times higher than official figures. “We are currently in a serious emergency. If we don’t change our course now, we will have a very bad Christmas.”

In addition, the German Vaccine Advisory Committee recommended on the 18th that all adults over the age of 18 in the country should be vaccinated with additional doses of the new crown vaccine.

The committee recommended the use of messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) vaccine as a supplement, and a booster shot should be given six months after the last dose of the vaccine.
