Goodbye Germany: After collapse – love comeback for Peggy and Steff?

Even a year after the couple Peggy Jerofke (48) and Steff Jerkel (54) separated, “Goodbye Germany” fans couldn’t believe the end of their love. The close relationship between the Mallorcans by choice always gave hope that the two could find each other again.

They didn’t seem to be able to keep each other apart either. Steff had moved into the small apartment that the restaurateur couple normally made available to their seasonal workers. But when it was needed, he slept again in the villa of his ex-partner and their daughter Josephine (6), called “JJ”…

Goodbye Germany: Peggy felt “completely empty”

But now, after the business separation, the private separation should finally be sealed: Steff had moved into a terraced house in Cala Rajada, which he now furnished piece by piece and in which he seemed to feel more and more comfortable. There should also be a room for his little daughter.

When the little one visited him with mom Peggy, his heart felt heavy: “I suddenly felt completely empty, completely alone. Well, it wasn’t a nice feeling,” she admitted. But she is also happy for her ex, after all he made it possible for her to stay in her old home. And the eternal “floating state” between hope and fear ultimately put a strain on both of them. The love of partnership had gone, the friendship remained, that’s what it looked like now.

Collapsed while walking the dog

Steff confirmed the impression: “We’re friendly, we get along great, we’re a great family, but it’s not enough for us to become husband and wife again. I don’t see the feelings either in me or in Peggy. That’s it “Just nothing,” he destroyed all fans’ hopes of a reunion – only to rekindle them a little later: For him, his ex is ultimately “somehow still my Peggy.”

How was this story supposed to continue? Sometimes, it seems, you need an outside event to show you what’s really important in life. A few days after the last filming, the “Goodbye Germany” team received the shocking news that Steff was in the hospital. While walking the family dog Elsa, he collapsed and found it difficult to breathe. The diagnosis: severe pneumonia, life-threatening!

Peggy still feels “love” for her ex-partner

Peggy had been there, had seen everything first hand and had been left wondering by the experience: “Now that I really had the feeling that I could lose him, it was completely terrible and unimaginable.” Their relationship was “actually a situation where we couldn’t live without each other,” she summed up. She was now completely sure that she still felt “love” for her ex-partner. Enough love for a new start? In any case, she wanted to “have a conversation” with him again.

Steff also seemed shaken up after his recovery. He decided to go on a Caribbean cruise with Peggy – there, far away, they had once spent their first vacation together and had really become aware of their love. While Peggy trimmed her body in the gym to “look her best” for Steff on the trip, he looked at photos from back then.

He became really sentimental and admitted that he was “a bit romantic”. He wanted to organize a dinner on the upcoming trip in the bar in Aruba where the picture was taken and then say: “It all started here – and I hope it doesn’t end there.”

In any case, the VOX team accompanied the two of them on the trip. The recordings will be broadcast as part of the new series “Full speed ahead – The cruise documentary” from April 5th, Fridays, 8:15 p.m.
