At the beginning of the representation week corresponding to the month of April, parliamentarians from the Avanza País bench carried out activities related to supervising and proposing solutions to the country’s most acute problems, such as citizen security.
Congresswoman Norma Yarrow Lumbreras visited the city of Trujillo to supervise the Flagrancy Pilot Unit, where she coincided with her bench colleague Diego Bazán Calderón.
The legislator considered the work being done by the Judiciary and also that of the Prosecutor’s Office to be good, although she said that further actions are still needed.
However, he welcomed the work being carried out by the police at the national level and demanded that the Executive Branch support this sector that works sacrificially, without resources and, due to lack of them, often without the detainee being brought to justice. because you have to release him within the 48-hour period of police detention.
He said that, if President Dina Boluarte talks about the fight against crime, she should first talk to her Minister of Economy and Finance so that he can designate a better budget to solve the problem, one of the main ones that is flagellating the country.
“When it comes to the budget, the MEF has to prioritize security, health and education. “You cannot be mean by cutting the budget of the police who are doing an impeccable job, who detain the criminal and, due to the lack of the prosecutor’s office, which also has no budget, has to release the detainee for the duration of the detention period,” express.
For his part, Congressman Diego Bazán Calderón agreed on the need to give more support to the Public Ministry to allocate more human resources and implements.
“More will is required, specifically from the MEF,” he expressed, after participating in the forum ‘Multidisciplinary Congress of the Bicentennial of the Superior Court of Justice of La Libertad,’” an institution that this year commemorates its 200th anniversary.
At another time, Bazán Calderón announced that he has, in his homeland, an extensive program of activities to look at the airport case.
“This week we have the presence of the highest authorities in the country committed to addressing the problem of flight cancellation at our international airport in Huanchaco, a meeting called by my congressional office to put an end to the problem,” he noted.
