Grass fire out of control in Refvik in Kinn
The fire service is working to get a grass fire under control at Refvik in Kinn municipality.
The report about the grass fire came at 18.24 to the fire service.
– Some people were observed trying to put out the fire. The fire service arrives quickly, and asks for more resources when they cannot get control, says duty manager Jostein Steinsland Hauge in the 110 central to NRK.
They have ordered a forest fire helicopter, but the nearest is in Sauda.
The grass fire is around 100 meters from the road and goes north towards Refviksanden. It should be around 500 meters to the nearest houses and they are not currently threatened.
The police have closed county road 5717 near Refvika, and there will be a diversion around Halsaneset. It is currently not appropriate to evacuate residents, says operations manager Bjarte Rebnord in the West police district.
An ambulance is now checking a person who may have inhaled smoke. It is currently unclear what should have happened.
