Under the motto “Love Vienna, remain a nuisance” the Green State Assembly will take place in the Vienna Trade Fair
Vienna (OTS) – At the 88th state assembly this morning, Judith Pühringer and Peter Kraus were confirmed as dual leaders. 76.8 percent of the approximately 350 voters voted for the duo at the top of the party. “We are pleased about the clear approval and are aware of the associated task. Over the last three years, we have always put sound policy at the center of our work. Today’s state assembly allows us to approach all upcoming tasks, including the Vienna election in 2025, with confidence,” said Pühringer and Kraus.
Honest statements, courageous answers
In their previous speech, the two party leaders identified a longing for more sincerity and honesty in politics, especially when it comes to climate protection measures: “There is a longing for honest statements and for courageous answers. Sincere climate protection naturally changes our everyday lives – by improving them sustainably. An everyday life in which we can get from A to B quickly without having to rely on a car. An everyday life in which everyone is protected from the summer heat and not just those who have a terrace. And an everyday life in which we naturally supply ourselves with cheap and green energy because we have managed to phase out oil and gas.”

Other topics included the big future visions for the city, for example “Gemma Belt 2030+” or the once-in-a-century opportunity for the Zweierlinie. Vienna deserves a bolder and more ambitious policy, according to Pühringer and Kraus, because: “Anyone who really loves Vienna is courageous and cares about the city and all Viennese people. And if you really love Vienna, yes, you will change the everyday life of the Viennese – for the better, in a climate-friendly and socially just way.”
In 2021, Judith Pühringer and Peter Kraus were elected as dual leaders of the Vienna Greens for the first time.
