Hezbollah Launches Multiple Attacks on Israeli Positions, Israel Prepares for Possible War
Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah announced on Wednesday that it had launched five attacks against Israeli positions along the border, marking another day of crossfire in the ongoing hostilities between the two sides. The attacks targeted various Israeli positions, including the Al Rahib site, a group of Israeli soldiers near the Pranit barracks, and other locations near the shared divide. Hezbollah claimed that their attacks resulted in confirmed injuries among Israeli forces.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah expressed support for the recent “Al Aqsa Flood operation” by Palestinian group Hamas, referring to the attacks on Israel on October 7. Nasrallah praised the efforts of the resistance movements in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, as well as in other “combat fronts” in Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq. He also acknowledged the support of Iran in the Palestinian cause and resistance movements in the region.
In response to Hezbollah’s actions, Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated that Israel is increasing its preparedness and expanding operations against Hezbollah. Gallant emphasized the need to address the threat posed by Hezbollah and ensure the safe return of displaced Israelis to their homes in northern Israel. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched airstrikes on Hezbollah positions in the Kfar Hammam area in response to the attacks.
United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres urged both parties to exercise maximum restraint to prevent further escalation in the region. Guterres warned that any miscalculation could lead to a broader conflict with devastating consequences for civilians in Syria, Lebanon, and the occupied Palestinian territories. He called on all parties to avoid attacks that could harm civilians and civilian infrastructure.
The situation remains tense as Hezbollah continues its attacks on Israeli positions, Israel prepares for potential conflict, and international calls for restraint continue.
