The popular band Belgrade Union released the song “Angels Live Forever”, which they dedicated to the victims of Ribnikar.

“The song was created as a sign of memory and respect for the little angels (and one big one) tragically killed in the elementary school ‘Vladislav Ribnikar’ on May 3, 2023. The video for the song was recorded on the occasion of the anniversary of the martyrdom, with the consent and support of the parents and families of the victims.All revenue from viewing and streaming will be donated to charity“, it says on the group’s YouTube page.
Together with the Syndicate, the song is performed by the choir Mali Bački dečaci from Vrbas, and one of the authors, Feđa Dimović, reveals how this work was created: “It all started with that melody by Andrija Čikić. We wanted his music to live on somehow. We do everything by feel. The words wrote themselves. It was created after the tragedy, but we were thinking about publishing it. We had a desire to say something. In the end, we decided to send the song to the children’s parents and they accepted that it be published,” said Dimović, who appeals that the victims in Dubona and Mali Orašje should not be forgotten and that similar tragedies never happen again.
The lawyer and member of the famous band is not surprised by the reactions of the audience: “People accepted her with the right measure. Comments on the networks can be inappropriate, but this shows us that not everything went to hell”.
At the end, he revealed whether “Angels live forever” will be in their repertoire – “We haven’t discussed whether we will perform the song at concerts, but we will discuss it with the families. They will decide if it is appropriate,” Dimović concluded. .
