For their debut on the stage of the Sanremo Festival, the French Saints wanted to do things big, appearing in front of the Ariston audience with two full looks by Dolce&Gabbana. The winners of the sixteenth edition of Alessandro wore a tailor-made pinstriped Sicilia fit jumpsuit, combined with a pair of black leather gloves and boots; while Mario preferred a sleeveless cardigan embroidered with sequins, combined with a white shirt, black tie and a pair of wool trousers with a double belt. He completed it all with a pair of leather derby shoes.

What makes the two looks particularly apt is their complementarity, working perfectly alongside each other despite apparently appearing profoundly different. Alessandro’s look reworks the idea of a pinstriped suit in a sportier version, while Mario’s uses some of the classic elements of the suit such as the shirt and tie with an unexpected twist given by the sleeveless cardigan. In fact it would have had a strange effect to see the French Saints with two outfits in their most classic form, which is why this choice for the first Sanremo outing is undoubtedly a winner.
«Before I fall to pieces I will leave my clothes on the street» they sing in their song Love in the mouth. Well, perhaps before doing so I would contact Domenico and Stefano, I don’t think they would be too happy given the work they did for this premiere at the Ariston. As expected, at the Sanremo Festival the competition is not only singing but also among the biggest fits of the competing singers.
