Increases in Covid and flu cases, masks are once again mandatory in hospitals in Spain

From today the mask is mandatory again in hospitals and health centers. The government announced the measure after the sharp increase in the incidence of cases Covid e di influenza. The Minister of Health Monica Garcia explained that, despite the lack of agreement between the Regions, the measure comes into force immediately throughout the national territory, on the basis of the legislation that allows the ministry to “unify the criteria” in case of epidemics. The mandatory mask in hospitals and health centers or elderly homes had already been adopted in 6 of the 17 autonomous communities (the most reluctant ones are those led by the centre-right). The masks are “recommended” even in pharmacies, as well as in crowded places, such as transport public, where it is “already in use” voluntarily by users, explained the minister. “In the regions that will be able to document a decrease in incidence of respiratory tract diseases for two weeks in a row, the obligation to wear a mask will become a simple recommendation”, concluded Garcia.
