The match: 1-0
While Inter Milan accumulated 50 goals and 54 points during their first 21 days of the Championship, their highest total since 2006-2007, it was not the duo Lautaro Martinez – Marcus Thuram who shone this Sunday to give victory for his team. The French striker still participated in the only goal of the match scored by the unfortunate Federico Gatti (1-0, 37th). Benjamin Pavard attempted an acrobatic recovery from a precise cross from Matteo Darmian and Thuram emerged to head in, but the striker’s placement forced the Turin defender to make a mistake.

For their part, the people of Turin can blame themselves for having been clumsy in attack. They struggled to take advantage of their opportunities. In the first period, the impressive breakthrough of the American Weston McKennie on the right flank, at the half-hour mark, could have allowed Dusan Vlahovic to open the scoring but the Serb lost his control and left the Frenchman Benjamin Pavard, author of a great match, intervenes at the last minute. Juve improved significantly in the second half but lacked precision. Federico Gatti (67th) notably missed the target, as did Dusan Vlahovic (63rd) after a return.
The fact: Inter widens the gap
While Inter Milan are now undefeated in their last sixteen matches played in Serie A (thirteen wins, three draws), Juventus sees their streak of seventeen matches in a row without defeat in the Championship come to an end.
Inter, who are already a match behind their opponents, are now four points ahead (57 points) over their runner-up, Juventus (53 points).

Inter have won their first six matches in all competitions in 2024. Since 1930, this is only the third time this has happened to the Nerazzurri after 1943 and 2007.
