Question answered in Final Point

With the Selic rate falling to 11.25% per year, is it still worth investing in the Prefixed Treasury 2026?

According to analysts consulted by the Central Bank, the Selic rate in December this year will remain at 9% per year. After that, it will continue to fall until it reaches 8.5% per year in December 2025.

If these projections are confirmed, it is worth investing in the Prefixed Treasury 2026.

Today, the investment yield is approximately 9.5% per year. Less than the current Selic.

But as analysts expect that interest rates will continue to fall, the Fixed Treasury will start to yield more than the Selic from the second half of this year. At the end of the term, the accumulated profitability of the pre-fixed investment will be greater than an investment linked to the Selic rate.

Projections may change and the rates released by the Central Bank represent an average of all analysts’ projections.

Some are more pessimistic. But others think that the Selic could fall even further.

Today, what it seems is that there is a greater chance that the Prefixed Treasury 2026 will yield more than the Selic Treasury.
