(LaPresse) The deputy propaganda chief of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Wael Makin Abdallah Abu-Fanounah, was killed by the Israeli army (IDF) in an air attack on the Gaza Strip. According to the Jewish state, he was responsible for publishing Islamic Jihad videos, including those of rocket attacks against Israel, and for creating propaganda videos relating to the hostages. The Jerusalem Post reports that Fanounah had previously been arrested in Israel on December 12, 1989 and was sentenced to three life sentences for his terrorist activities, but was released in 2011 as part of the exchange deal for Israeli soldier Gilad Schalit .
