Israel intensifies operations against Hezbollah
Israel’s Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, announced on Wednesday that Israel is ramping up its preparation and expanding operations against Hezbollah. Gallant stated that one of the main challenges facing Israel is allowing around 80,000 displaced Israelis to return to their homes in the north of the country amidst ongoing Hezbollah attacks.
“We prefer an agreement that eliminates the threat, but we must prepare for the possibility of using force in Lebanon, including a war scenario. We must be prepared for every scenario and every threat, whether from close or distant enemies,” Gallant said.
According to the Times of Israel, Gallant led a drill evaluating coordination between local authorities, government ministries, and rescue services in a war scenario to facilitate the return of northern residents to their homes.
Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that fighter jets targeted terrorist infrastructure and military positions of Hezbollah in the Kfar Hammam area. The IDF shared images of the operation, indicating that the military positions were used to launch missiles in the Mount Dov area.
In addition, the IDF continues its military operations in the Al Amal neighborhood of Khan Younis in the south of the Gaza Strip, where weapons and terrorist infrastructure have been located. Several terrorists were killed and detained during raids, with weapons, explosive devices, and grenades seized.
The Israeli Air Force also targeted complexes equipped with explosives, terrorist tunnels, weapons warehouses, and military sites. Dozens of “terrorist agents” attempting to escape from the Nasser hospital in Khan Younis were arrested. The hospitals were searched to prevent the establishment of Hamas infrastructure, and the suspects have been handed over for further interrogation.
As tensions escalate, Israel is steadfast in its efforts to combat Hezbollah and ensure the safety of its citizens in the face of ongoing threats.
