A multi-hour meeting of the Israeli war cabinet ended without a decision on Israel’s response to Iran’s attack, “CNN” writes. An Israeli official said Israel was determined to issue a response, but that a decision on timing and scope had yet to be made.
The Israeli military has been tasked with coming up with additional options in response to an Iranian attack. An official in the administration of US President Joseph Biden told reporters that an Israeli official told the US that Israel wants a showdown, but that it does not escalate.
“I think Israel has made it clear to us that it is not looking for a significant escalation with Iran. That’s not what they’re looking for. They seek to protect and defend themselves“, said a US administration official.
To recall, Iran launched an attack on Israel on Saturday, April 13 in the evening. Tehran fired hundreds of drones, cruise and ballistic missiles at Israel, but almost 99 percent of the missiles and drones were shot down.
