He has millions of fans all over the world and has become an integral part of the cinema: the British secret agent James Bond. Conceived as a character in a novel by author Ian Fleming, he made the jump to the big screen in 1962. “Dr. No” was the first Bond film to hit cinemas. To date, 24 more have followed.

Im Bags Publishing An illustrated book has now been published that deals in detail with the origins of the strip. The production company EON Productions has opened its archive and made rare photos, documents and posters available. More than a thousand illustrations can be seen in the approximately 500-page book. There are also original sounds from people who were involved in the film at the time: from producers Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman, to director Terence Young and production designer Ken Adam, to actors like Sean Connery. A worthwhile – albeit expensive – investment for every 007 fan: the illustrated book is available for 750 euros.
