Joel Embiid will fall out of the competition for the MVP award due to a knee injury, as he is only allowed to miss four more games, and as things stand now – it will be good if he plays at all this season. Since January, he had problems with “swelling of the knee” and then almost at the match against the Warriors, he renewed the injury, and because of this, he will most likely have to undergo surgery…

Initially, it was reported that Embid “torn” the meniscus of his left knee, which was soon retracted, but now “Atletik” reported that the brilliant center has a “displaced meniscus flap” which is actually considered a type of meniscus tear. At this moment, Embid is talking to doctors and looking for a solution to the problem he has, that is, it is being considered whether rest would help him recover – or whether he will have to undergo an operation that will keep him out of action for a long time.

It is interesting that a “vow of silence” was introduced in Philadelphia regarding the situation surrounding Embiid and no one is allowed to say anything on this topic, while information is coming that the current MVP will receive special therapies during the weekend. More precisely, a final decision should be made on Monday – a break or surgery.

By the way, Embid played 34 games this season and averaged 35.3 points, 11.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists, and although he is the league’s best scorer – it won’t help him much if he has to undergo surgery.
